The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner seeks a Deputy Director who will be responsible for identifying key performance indicators and developing data collection and analysis tools for performance management and quality improvement. This position will require extensive knowledge and experience with statistical programs, quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, data visualization techniques, and presentation of results in visual, written and oral formats to a wide range of stakeholders. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: • Assists the Director, QA in implementing the agency quality assurance program. • Monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of quality assurance initiatives within the agency. • Establishes routine performance management process for the agency. • Identifies key performance indicators for the agency and units. • Ensures data quality by reviewing data collection tools to ensure proper usage and accuracy of information. • Identifies potential issues with data quality and makes improvement recommendations. • Leads the development and implementation of an agency-wide data collection platform. • Uses advanced statistical and analytical skills to assess data. • Gathers and converts data into insights to inform and guide agency units. • Develops reports for executive team and unit leaders. • Performs special projects and initiatives as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
