JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Serve as a liaison between New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) on all environmental reviews for NYCHA projects and activities that utilize United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) financial assistance. Assess the potential environmental impacts on projects to determine whether they meet federal, state and local environmental standards. 2. Review, prepare and submit the necessary documents to HPD to ensure that NYCHA remains in full compliance with the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR). This may include other federal, state and local environmental laws. 3. Collect, maintain and disseminate data required for environmental planning and assessment efforts. Maintain NYCHA’s Environmental Records database that tracks agency-wide Environmental Review Request (ERICS). 4. Assist with the preparation of environmental reviews, when necessary, and draft correspondence. Coordinate with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to address any concerns regarding adverse effects on archeological and/or historic resources. 5. Perform duties related to budgeting and reporting including: financial and quantitative analysis, cost analysis and other research techniques and make recommendations to management.
