The HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment Program (CTP) within the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (BHIV) has a City Research Scientist II vacancy. The mission of the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control is to prevent and control the spread of HIV and ensure that People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) have the best possible prevention, treatment and care. Under direction, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Research best practices for providing technical assistance and capacity building to CBOs and health departments. • Makes and records observations on the progress of research/investigations and evaluates data. • Designs, executes and interprets experiments. • Assists in the coordination of research efforts of the agency with other research projects. • Maintains records and prepares reports. • Research best practices to provide technical assistance to CDC funded CBOs and HDs in the areas of HIV Testing, Condom Distribution, Prevention with HIV Positive Individuals and Policy Development. • Collaborate with CDC funded Capacity Building Assistance Training and Technical Assistance Providers to develop, design and deliver evidence based presentations, training and technical assistance activities. • Conduct training and technical assistance activities focused on Evidence Based Interventions. • Develop, design and deliver presentations, training and technical assistance curriculum and materials that focus on best practices and evidence based intervention development. • Develop, design and deliver presentations, training and technical assistance that relate to the biomedical interventions, cultural sensitivity and the care cascade. • Other duties assigned with relationship to the Training and Technical Assistance Program
