ALL OTHER CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE SELECTED. **AMENDED IN JOB DESCRIPTION -You will assign, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff; provide consultation for nursing staff on nursing practice issues. -Maintain standards of nursing practice through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities; plan staff development and continuing education programs, to ensure that nurses achieve and maintain competence. -Provide expert technical guidance regarding nursing care management of tuberculosis patients to program directors, planning committees, community groups, and provide direct patient care during emergencies/staffing shortages. -You will, at times, may need to perform nursing duties. - Liaise with physicians and nurses. -Review medical standards and recommend revisions in policies and procedures; interpret departmental policy to hospitals, community care providers and other agencies involved with the TB Control Program activities. -Interpret departmental policy to hospitals, community care providers and other agencies involved with the TB Control Program activities. -Assess special needs of assigned area and its component unit. -Participate in recruitment and orientation of new staff. -Oversee medical supplies and pharmaceuticals; use information collected from the Program data systems to coordinate activities. -Assume leadership responsibilities in monitoring TB Control practices when needed.
